Mace Construct will be renamed Forco, the UK contractor has announced. The business will keep trading under the Mace Construct name until the New Year, after which it will operate as Forco.
The contractor said the chosen name is short, impactful and easy to pronounce.
The change follows the separation of Mace Construct and Mace Consult into two standalone businesses in March, under an agreement that Mace Consult would retain the Mace brand.
Forco is to be introduced together with a new corporate strategy, which the company said would be set out alongside productivity targets running through to 2030.
Mark Reynolds, Executive Chair, said Mace Construct, soon to be Forco, had spent 35 years raising standards and helping to drive the industry forward. He said the new name reflected the company's stated commitment to being the UK's most forward-thinking contractor, and its most productive by 2030 — an ambition the business has set for itself rather than a result already achieved.
Reynolds added that while the name and brand were changing, the culture, values and people behind the business were not. Clients, he said, could expect the same teams, the same commitment to delivery and the same approach to creating places and infrastructure designed to last.
