Philippine Airlines has selected IBS Software’s cloud-based iCargo platform to replace its current cargo system. The implementation is intended to extend iCargo across the carrier’s domestic and international cargo operations and support Philippine Airlines’ modernisation programme.
The platform will cover a full range of cargo business functions, including international requirements such as customs reporting, duties and taxes settlement and regulatory compliance. IBS Software says iCargo is already used by carriers managing a similar mix of domestic and international demands, with the flexibility and scale to handle both.
The transition is expected to address operational needs including system performance and data analytics. According to the company, iCargo will support faster shipment processing, greater reliability and end-to-end shipment visibility while reducing manual intervention and enabling more efficient processes.
Jason Siy, vice president for cargo business at Philippine Airlines, described the initiative as an important step in modernising the airline’s cargo business. He said the carrier needs a system that increases visibility, improves operational efficiency and supports a better customer experience as it grows across its domestic and international network. Siy added that the airline sees iCargo as a key enabler of its long-term cargo transformation strategy and its ambition to build a stronger cargo business.
The announcement did not specify a timetable, contract value or detailed transition schedule. It presents the platform selection and intended scope as part of a broader cargo modernisation effort.
